2009 New Year's Resolutions

2009 looks like it's going to be quite a year of change, which is always exciting and should offer plenty of opportunities for blogging. As such, I am making it a New Year's Resolution to make and keep up a blog.

Taking a cue from my lovely sister Sarah (her blog is http://cietohomepage.blogspot.com), I thought I would begin this year with a wrapup of the last one. Here are my 2008 highlights.

1. Moved out of my parents' basement and into my own cozy, one-bedroom apartment in Fraser. I miss the free food and easy access to washing machines, but that is a small price to pay.

2. April trip to Moab with PJ - we met up in Moab for some sweet mountain-biking and had a killer time. I also bruised about every part of my body learning to ride clipless pedals.

3. Summer mountain-biking in Fraser. The x-country trails are amazing and it's always great to be riding. Thanks to Kali for being my riding buddy.

4. Fun Runs. Toward the end of the year I did a couple of 5ks and I have decided it is the perfect length. Long enough so that you feel you earned all the food at the end, but short enough so that you can actually enjoy the food. Thanks to Kari and Sonya for a sweet Panicking Poultry 5k and my fam for the Turkey Trot (hopefully a new tradition).

5. Jonny O's wedding. Being the best man is a lot of work but I would do it again in a heartbeat. It's a joy seeing one of your best friends getting married to an awesome woman (who is now pregnant). Congrats Jon & Cait.

6. Big I at AGO. It's been a huge blessing to be a part of this fraternity and I love getting to see the new guys coming in. God has blessed the fraternity with some great new guys. Strong the ties...

7. Little bro Stephen and Tahnee got engaged. While it wasn't a surprise, it was still exciting. I am looking forward to having Tahnee as an "official" part of our family and the fun time we'll have at their wedding.

8. Christmas. The year could not have ended any better. My sister and brother-in-law flew out from Boston, my Aunto B was also here, and my cousin Chris came up for a couple nights. We had great friends over for Christmas Eve with TONS of singing/bell ringing. It was such a great time together. I am very blessed to have an awesome family whom I love and enjoy.

I was truly blessed, but it was still a tough year both from a business and social standpoint. I trust God has more blessings to bestow in 2009 and I am looking forward to the new people and new places I am sure to encounter. God bless.
