Praise God - He Provides Yet Again!

I am now at the end of what could have been a much longer journey, my search for a new job. I have to admit, I was skeptical that I would find a job that was appealing to me, would offer decent pay, and would be a step in the right direction for my career, but God provided above and beyond what I could have asked for or imagined.

I start on Thursday working as an account executive for "Restyling" magazine, a trade publication put out by National Business Media Publications, an approximately 80-person privately held company. The people with whom I interviewed were all very intelligent but very relaxed. I'm comforted by the thought that many of the current employees have been with the company for 10 plus years, not something you find all that often these days. The company seems to be in a good position to weather the current economic downturn and the job sounds really interesting.

Plus, as an added bonus, it's right down the street from the "Oasis", an indoor complex with seven sand volleyball courts and a bar. Does life get sweeter? Oh yes. The company is also just a 5 minute drive from the Interlocken disc golf course.

I am excited to be working in Broomfield and moving back to Denver, though I am also shocked at how fast this is all happening. God truly provided quickly and abundantly and I am thankful for that. Throughout the job search God also provided encouragement through scripture, specifically Joshua 1:9 which states, "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." I love this verse, because God calls us to move with strength and courage in light of uncertainty, trusting in God's strength, not our own. This is a very comforting thought, especially since almost anything in life worth doing involves uncertainty.

Thank you to all my friends and family for your prayers and support while I was job hunting. You helped me stay encouraged and positive throughout my search. Praise God!

  2. Hey Joseph! It's Shiloh. I found you through Kari, and I wanted to say Congrats on the new job. We're looking forward to having you closer so you can dance with us at the Rose. Where will you be living in Broomfield?
