some random thoughts

Where to start?

Here's a good one. Just went and got drinks with a coworker. I am convinced that the best conversations and the most fun comes from great one on one conversation. You also learn WAY more about someone in a short amount of time that way - why don't I do this more often?! The same could be said of dating, you learn so much about a person and there is always way more than you ever could have anticipated - great.

A friend of mine recently challenged me to make some New Year's resolutions. I was hesitant at first because I saw no real value in making a resolution I had no intention to keep. But after some research I have seen the error of my ways. While the majority of people don't keep their resolutions, it is still 400% more likely to create a lasting change in your life than making no resolution at all. I guess "wishing" something will change still doesn't cut it.

Lastly - I am always amazed at how quickly a Psalm can refocus me during the day. It blindsides you and reminds you what it's all about. Here's one for you.

May the words of my mouth
and the meditation of my heart
be pleasing to you,
O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.

Psalm 19:14

  1. Good thought buddy!

One on one dates do rock. There is nothing better than losing yourself in conversation and realize that four hours have flown by and you've barely scratched the surface. I heart that.

Good Psalm...that one often comes to my mind too!

We'll have to catch up...friend date in January???

  3. The best part of my relationship with Matt is the fact we can still sit down over a cup of coffee and chat for hours. That is after 10 years of marriage. And I still love it and do it almost daily.
